In the Mood of Amelie – China

Amelie. Tiber River (Lungotevere). ROME – 14 March 2021

I met Amelie during the events organized by the Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

We made portraits a few years ago then we lost sight of them.

Lately, we found ourselves again and the idea of doing another photo session was born, exactly the day before Rome fell into lockdown for the second time.

What better way to greet our Rome than an afternoon together, at the edge of the banks of the great Tiber river, at sunset, while the whole crowd is walking convulsively over our heads.

Amelie loves to communicate her passion for the ancient history of Rome and Chinese culture. Which we have in common.

An effervescent type is the young Amelie, born in 1992 in Zhangjiakou, China, and for eight years in Italy.

If you ask her to describe herself, she tells in this way:

Journalist, Freelance Blogger, Videomaker, 𝟏𝟖𝟎k followers on Chinese social media, Multicultural marketing, Bilingual host.

Miss Universe China 2015 Top10

Art student graduated from the Academy of Rome.

I love Music and to sing, born in a family of art, Latin Dance and Snowboard.

She wears three dresses, two for evening, and the last, a famous traditional Chinese dress, the Qipao (旗袍), a type of body-hugging dress original from China, usually made by Silk or cotton.

It's a high-necked, close-fitting dress with the skirt slit partway up the side.

We chose to start at the Ara Pacis, because it blends ancient and modern, in symbolism and architecture, and then we went down to the banks of the Tiber to wait for the sunset.

With the atmosphere and the music of our favorite film in mind: “In the Mood for Love” by Wong Kar-wai and the waltz by Shigeru Umebayashi.

  4. Timely, i was missing the natural beauty look and there you go.. You offered that to us. Nowadays, i am seeing the fully made up faces that almost look the same. This is a break to that monotony. Thanks to both of you,the owner of beauty and the capturer of such.
