"Since that time, I have never stopped trying to investigate
this magical and mysterious bond between mother and child
that no man will ever understand." (p. 124)

"My Malaysian Tales" by Stefano Romano is a photobook that clearly shows the interior of our country which is cheerful and harmonious with various races and cultures as well as religious beliefs.
His self-confidence has succeeded in producing exciting photos for anyone who flips through the pages of this book.
It is very clear that the writer is so excited about Malaysia and that makes him express all the excitement through his camera lens and record them for all to see.
As if shouting to the world loudly and telling that he once lived and loved Malaysia.

Sejujurnya aku suka sebab ia tentang Malaysia.
Haha
"My Malaysian Tales" bukan sekadar buku sebaliknya menghimpun khazanah tentang adat dan kehidupan.
Diselitkan juga unsur-unsur kemanusiaan, maksud aku di bab "A Debt To Be Paid" bersertakan kata-kata "Pain is an unexpected presence that decides for us" ~ Francisco Mele

"My Malaysian Tales" menghimpunkan "mimpi-mimpi" penulis untuk melihat kehidupan tradisional dilestarikan.Andai kata suatu masa nanti semua kampung tradisional berubah menjadi rumah batu bertingkat...
Grazie mille, Maestro.
Till we meet again, Insya-Allah

Review “MY MALAYSIAN TALES” (Farizah Shamsudin)

"As I flip through the pages of My Malaysian Tales I tend to feel more and more attached with 'Orang Melayu'; thanks to Stefano Romano for his vivid description of the beautiful landscapes and people. One can clearly understand the fundamental theme of spirit, 'adat', and the soul of true Malaysians from the photos, description, and author's personal interpretation. It's not merely reading a travel story but entering into the heart of the country. I think the reader can realize the great importance of our tradition which we are going to abandon slowly."

"A moment of life recorded precisely within the heart of the author Stefano Romano. My Malaysian Tales carries the message of how universal beauty does not recognize appearance, race and religion. Amidst the simplicity of life, happiness and sweetness still await for those who are always contented. Congratulations!"

"From blog to book...from soul to soul...about feel and pride...that flowed through writing...immortalized pictures of memories...for all to see and read.
📖This is the book...My Malaysian Tales...written by Tuan Stefano Romano.
📖This is a book about Malaysia... about my nation and my country... written and booked in such a way by an Italian...who once sowed his devotion at Universiti Sains Malaysia.
📖This book is a diary of his heart while in Malaysia...collecting all the stories...all the experiences...all the moments...immortalized as memories...especially in the north of Malaysia...where he worked and spent time in there.
📖The book that revolves around the nation and country of Malaysia should have a place in the heart of each of us...it is difficult to describe in words...because it is not an entertaining story...it is a real genuine experience...need to see and interpret it yourself through the pages read.
📖This book made me realize... how to be a Malaysian...a nation to be proud of...how much I enjoyed between then and now should be balanced...and not continue to be abandoned...because all of that is a legacy that is impossible to repeat.
📖Although I feel so excited for having this book and proud of it...but I feel ashamed either...why do I let all the feelings of love and affection for my Malaysian nation smell like oregano and pasta...it really shameful to feel it...really feel it!!!"

"It is no exaggeration to say that this book is suitable for you who want to know the uniqueness of Malaysians. Even for Malaysians who want to return to the sweet memories of their past.
From 'sky to earth'. From 'custom' to home. The pictures and comments given are the fundamental themes on the basic identity, spirit, and soul of true Malaysians.
Enjoy this book. Very unpretentious and modest but full of philosophical views, respectful, loving, expressive and creative.
Thank you yam leaves, no loss to buy."

"Reading My Malaysian Tales provides the reader with the three dimensions of traveling: the physical, memory, and mental journey. At a time when traveling was very limited, reading this book was an experience that enriched the soul, gave a new perspective, refreshed the thirst for a meaningful journey." <Read the complete review here>
"My Malaysian Tales, an exemplary work of our good friend, Stefano Romano. By the title itself, I already knew I am in for an intimate journey to the customs and traditions of Malaysia, a country near to us geographically and by blood because of our ancestors' Malay descent. Intimate? Yes! Due to the author's style of putting himself with the subjects, he is talking about and being one of them. Obviously from the prologue, just an intro, but his emotional attachment can be felt already.
My interest increases as I open the pages, though I already knew from the very beginning I am holding a unique book. Flipping the pages, my travel started... Smooth at first, familiarizing me with the people, their traits, soul, spirits. Then all of a sudden, I was brought to a hyperactive festival of the Tamil Hindus, which left me shocked. Followed by calmness brought about by the beautiful photos of places, sceneries, and landscapes. My travel went on and on, further, with some funny moments but also some undeniable issues that are deep and should be felt by the people and take action at.
For now, I need to stop continuing my unfinished journey. Excited about what awaits to be discovered and felt.
I invite all of you, who have not grabbed a copy yet, to join us in our journey, via My Malaysian Tales. God bless everyone."

Grazie!"
