Sara, The Beauty of Tunisia

Parco degli Acquedotti. ROME – 21 February 2021

For the second time, I meet Sara.

After the first shooting, we went, this time, to the Parco degli Acquedotti which is becoming my new location to explore.

An interesting meeting of a young beauty and ancient Roman ruins. Between the blooming mimosas and the sunset, Sara wears a fiery red dress and the traditional Tunisian kaftan.

Sara and her mother

This was the first time:

Sara Denguir is a 25-year-old girl, born in Aprila, a city near Rome, from Tunisian parents, from Hammamet to be correct. They arrived in Italy in 1994, their mother Souhaila tells me, while Sara gets ready for our shooting.

It's the first time I see Sara. We were friends on Facebook, she likes my photos and I like her sunny and smiling face. So, I asked her if she wanted to pose for me. She is young, nice, and not vain at all, even a little embarrassed to be photographed in a park full of people. But in the end, it's not like people are looking at us, and after the first few shots, everything went smoothly and easily. Thanks also to the presence of the very nice mother, who looks more like her older sister.

Sara is studying at a private university, master's degree. She studies foreign languages and her dream is to “become an interpreter to help people of different cultures communicate with each other”, she tells me.

From Wikipedia

Hammamet is a town in Tunisia. Thanks to its beaches, it is a popular destination for swimming and water sports and is one of the primary tourist destinations in Tunisia. It is located in the south-eastern section of Cap Bon and is part of the Nabeul Governorate. The reported number of inhabitants varies from 100,000 to 400,000 and the population quadruples due to tourists' arrival in the summer. It is particularly known for jasmine, which is the namesake of the tourist resort of Yasmine Hammamet.

All over Hammamet, souvenirs crafted from jasmine can be found. Around Hammamet, suburbs are being built as migrants from the southern region of the country come to find employment. As a popular tourist destination, the city is economically important to Tunisia.
